Great Sites from Female Entrepreneurs! (from Boston no less!)

Last night I went to a fantastic forum run by Sheila Lirio Marcelo, founder of Care.com that featured 3 local female entrepreneurs. Each woman had a unique story of what got her to where she was and they all have fantastic companies.

One was Cindy Brown President & General Partner of Boston Duck Tours - a great company that seems to treat their employees incredibly well. She had a great story of getting into the male-dominated hospitality world at a relatively young age.

Another was Karen Ong who founded My Happy Planet – a unique and creative website that connects people from all over the world who are trying to improve their foreign language skills. It’s such a neat idea and it seems to be incredibly successful.

The last was Stacy DeBroff, Founder & CEO of Mom Central. Stacy has quite a wit and was very engaging. She has become a nationally acclaimed parenting expert and regularly appears on programs like the Today show.

So check out the sites – maybe you’ll also find your own inspiration!

Pachelbel would be proud!
Posted on September 26th, 2007 @ 7:36 am

Well – my sister just forwarded me this YouTube clip from a fantastically talented man who created this great song based on Pachelbel’s Canon in D. He begins by apologizing to Pachelbel, but he shouldn’t. It is a very clever song that perfectly captures parenting. It made me cry and laugh at the same time. Well done!

If you have time, check out his song to Flight of the Bumblebee. Equally clever!
